Panuje powszechna opinia, że to islam zniewala muzułmańskie kobiety, a co ciekawe to właśnie on przyniósł im wyzwolenie. Oczywiście było to za czasów Mahometa i rewolucja była hm rewolucją jak na temte czasy (VII w.) Do X w. muzułanki jeśli chciały brały udział w wojnach, brały udział w życiu politycznym, były poetkami i rozwijały swoje zainteresowania (np muzyką).
